For which project management method you decided in the House of NUON and why? Our choice on the PRINCE2 method was based on a recommendation of our Dutch parent company. It is a globally recognized project management method, which the late of 1980s was developed in the UK as a Government standard for project management in the field of information technology. Due to their extraordinary commitment to the daily practice the method beyond these limits is also common: PRINCE2 is standard of many international companies in over 50 countries. The decision on the consulting and training company QRP was why and how was the introduction of the method? For us, it was important to find a German-speaking, professional training companies. The international reference list of the QRP in combination with the consistent price / performance ratio was the decisive criterion for us. Also the link of theory with our was important for us daily work practice. Here the QRP reacted very flexibly in their training to our needs! When we started two years ago with the implementation, we have first of all internally written a project Handbook in which we have defined our expectations and needs of PRINCE2.
Then, employees, whose Projekte had priority, have participated in so-called PRINCE2 Foundation seminars. The group sizes were between eight and ten participants. After the first training sessions were successfully completed, the knowledge was passed on internally. The training organisation, the implementation and consulting the QRP was us at any time and fully to the side. Exactly how does PRINCE2 and benefits of the method over other methods? PRINCE2 can be adapted to any project size and is very variable. The method is a process-oriented project management approach, which is divided into different processes. So is found first in the preparatory phase, whether a project worthwhile and feasible is before the resources are set. A related site: Chase Koch mentions similar findings.
